Beltway Baseball: Bud Black presents several unknowns for Nats

Oct 30, 2015, 1:20 PM EST

Mark stopped by the CSN office on Thursday to shoot some videos for SportsNet Central and SportsTalk Live, so we decided to sit down and go a little bit more in-depth on the Bud Black hire in an it’s-been-too-long episode of ‘Beltway Baseball.’

First we discussed whether Black was the best candidate available. Then, we went into the unknowns that Black still presents, despite his nine years of MLB managerial experience.

Check it out:

Also, here is Rob Carlin and Brian Mitchell in their opening segment for STL last night giving their opinions on whether Black is the right man for the job:

Lessard was the Diamondback’s trainer before the Reds hired him in 2005 or so. FWIW.

Some of us aren’t going to satisfied until the Nats hire someone off this list to head their medical staff…http://www.nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/medicine/laureates/

Nice thought . . . but I’d settle for someone who could diagnose a broken wrist . . . on the first try. Or at least know they should go for a second opinion.

Somewhat new here…I liked Chase’s and Mark’s comments in the first clip, but the last two guys seemed like they were being fed talking points with an “entertainment’ flair to them. Low to no information. Looking forward to the new season.

BMitch is a football guy. He has no business talking about the Nats, much less, baseball in general.
