With the Nationals in the middle of a winning streak, there were plenty of positives to discuss on this week’s episode of ‘The Baseball Show.’

The Nationals are six games up in first place in the NL East, and there have been several standout performers who deserve credit. This first segment looks at how good Denard Span has been over the last six weeks, basically since Bryce Harper implied he shouldn’t be in the Nats’ lineup.

Check it out here:

This second clip is about Ian Desmond and how he is playing like the game’s best shortstop:

This third video is about prospect Michael Taylor and how he looks like real deal:

This fourth and final clip is my segment from this week. I talk about injuries sustained by World Series contenders in recent days:

Last week Daniel Murphy was 8 for 14 vs Nats and this week 3 for 12.

Great job by the coaching and scouting staff for making adjustments.

  2. David Proctor - Aug 15, 2014 at 3:35 PM

If you read Kilgore’s piece it sounds like Span’s hot streak coincides more with MW telling him he was going to be moved down in the order than Harper’s comments.

I wonder if we need a big lead tonight, so the pen is not counted on the first day back after their “home” was use as Porta-Potty park.

I smell a win. (I *think* that’s what it is, anyway.)

May our staff keep the opposing batters whiffing.

Even if it’s just by a nose, I hope we pull it off.

  7. natsfan1a - Aug 15, 2014 at 4:26 PM

    Okay, I’m done now.

      Why quit the bull&$/! now?
